Hancestry is the debut album from The Solomon Gundy Band. A powerful statement of resilience and return, representing the Jazz Warriors legacy and linking the 80's musical pioneers with today's thriving UK Jazz adjacent scene.
Veteran trumpeter and UK bandleader Sean Corby has assembled a multi-generational line-up of international talent with guest contributions from Courtney Pine and emerging young Piano star Sultan Stevenson.
Hancestry is the culmination of Sean's decades-long struggle through music, personal crises, and emergence.
Drawing on a rich palette of cultural influences that span Jazz, Afro-diasporic rhythms, Soul, Punk, and electronica, Corby has forged what he calls ‘The sound of the In-Between’.
Hancestry is due to be released on CD/Vinyl and Digital Download on 31st July 2026.
